Faculty Support Services

Faculty support services and course technologies offer many technology services to support teaching and learning.   Course technology services include the Blackboard course management system, course web sites, instructional audio, video & podcasting, web survey tools and course communication technologies. Other services include instructional technology consultations, multimedia and web production for course content, the Academic Technology Center- New Media Center facility, instructional technology workshops, and special events about emerging instructional technologies.

Course technologies
We offer many services to faculty and instructors, such as Blackboard course management system, course web sites, online survey tools, audio & video for the web, and course communication & collaboration tools. Staff consultants provide assistance, training and support in the use of course technology services.

Development of Multi-Media content for courses
Assistance with producing course materials such as PowerPoint presentations, PDF documents, images, Flash and audio & video, for in-class or web delivery. Services include the conversion of materials into digital content (i.e. documents, images or 35 mm slides).  Staff consultants are available to assist with optimizing presentations and course materials for web delivery.

Consult with staff to discuss the technology options for your course. Contact us for assistance in preparing course materials, for in-class or web-based delivery.  Learn about integrating new instructional technology tools and practices into teaching and learning through special events, training and consultation

Faculty support and training
Events that provide information about instructional technology options, and courses that teach technology skills with an educational focus.

Resources for Online & Distance Courses
Assistance with the preparation of course content for online delivery, and with the production of distance learning course sites, via Blackboard or other web services. Staff consultants can answer technical questions about how to prepare course materials for web delivery, and how to support students in a distance learning course.

Academic Technologies New Media Center
The facility provides access to state-of-the-art computers, software, and other multi-media equipment for faculty and instructors to prepare course materials, or to develop an instructional technology resource for a course.

Cyber Tower
A program of Cornell's Adult University (CAU), produced and developed by Academic Technologies to provide an online connection to Cornell faculty through study rooms, forums and news and reviews features.

Faculty Innovation in Teaching Program
With funding from the Offices of the President and the Provost, and production and coordination by Academic Technologies, this program supports the development of individual projects, the extension of those technology solutions for campus-wide benefit and forums for discussion of technology and pedagogy.
